Staff Aerothermal Engineer

📋 Description

• Design and optimize thermal management for air-breathing and electric engines.
• Define inlet/outlet ducts for air-breathing engines to minimize install impact.
• Analyze internal flows through convective heat exchangers for cooling.
• Define and verify mass flow and pressure-drop requirements for thermal systems.
• Predict mass flows and pressure drops via CFD across the vehicle.
• Use advanced CFD/FEA tools to analyze thermal performance and issues.

🎯 Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 6+ years in thermal analysis and design of air-breathing engines in aerospace
• Strong background in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and aerodynamics for aerospace
• Experience designing thermal management for propulsion and hybrid-electric systems
• Experience simulating external and internal flows for heat transfer
• Duct design for air-breathing engines; 3D parametrization and optimization
