Staff AI/Machine Learning Engineer

📋 Description

• Design and build systems for longitudinal synthetic environments for agent training and evaluation.
• Build and maintain synthesis models generating realistic replacements at scale.
• Train and improve the NER models for entity detection across data.
• Build evaluation infrastructure that grades agent outcomes and discriminates models.
• Fine-tune and evaluate open-weight models on Tonic data for product direction.
• Expand coverage into new domains, languages, and entity types.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years (or PhD +3) building production ML systems in LLMs/agents/RL/NER.
• Hands-on experience training and shipping models to production with a pragmatic quality bar.
• Experience with generative/synthesis models where fidelity and utility matter.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals; write maintainable, production-ready code.
• Fluency with PyTorch, distributed training, and standard agent/benchmark frameworks.
• Comfort with messy, sensitive real-world data and privacy constraints.
