Staff Backend Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Own the backend services for printer identity, connectivity, provisioning, updates, and telemetry.
• Build the Linux layer for printer bring-up, install, and updates.
• Own the network between cloud and printers; design protocols, connections, and failure modes.
• Drive major backend initiatives end-to-end from design to production on real printers.
• Own reliability; participate in on-call, incident response, and postmortems.
• Technical leadership and mentorship across backend, infra, and device teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years building and operating production backend services end-to-end.
• Deep Linux fundamentals: processes, filesystems, networking, systemd, boot/init.
• Strong networking: TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP, WebSockets, NAT, firewall traversal.
• OS provisioning and lifecycle: installing, imaging, updating, rolling back Linux.
• Expert in at least one backend language (Python/Go/TypeScript/C++).
• Nice to have: IoT/backends, MQTT/pub-sub, fleet management, edge compute, Bazel.
