Staff Database Engineer

📋 Description

• Own end-to-end migration governance including review workflow and CI gates
• Architect multi-region replication design for Harvey’s PostgreSQL fleet
• Improve fleet reliability and performance across production databases
• Build self-service tooling and migration dry-runs for engineers
• Lead database incident response and post-incident reviews
• Partner with Security and Compliance on data controls

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of PostgreSQL-focused DB/infra experience
• Expert PostgreSQL knowledge: WAL, vacuum, replication, partitioning
• Proven track record building migration governance frameworks
• Experience with multi-region, high-availability DB infrastructure
• Strong observability with Datadog, pganalyze, or similar
• Proficiency with cloud DB services at scale and IaC (Terraform, Pulumi)
