Staff Engineer

📋 Description

• Join a hybrid role in Sydney working with Storage Layer Services.
• Architect and deliver features for a new cloud storage architecture.
• Collaborate across Sydney and North America teams to build scalable, multi-tenant storage services.
• Write production-ready Rust code and improve observability to inform decisions.
• Champion operational excellence and drive changes to high-risk parts of codebase.
• Balance performance with other requirements and guide complex performance improvements.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in programming, debugging and performance tuning distributed systems.
• Strong experience in systems languages (Rust, C, C++, etc).
• Proven technical leadership and ability to mentor engineers.
• Solid understanding of cache management, log-based recovery, and transactions.
• Experience with highly concurrent, asynchronous services and distributed state machines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; collaborative mindset.
