Staff Engineer, Compute

📋 Description

• Lead capacity management and workload placement for Datadog's Kubernetes platform across 100,000+
• Design and build systems to optimize scheduling and deployment across regions with capacity
• Partner across infra teams to evolve multi-region and multi-cloud capacity orchestration at scale.
• Develop production software in Go to improve Kubernetes platform capabilities, automation, and ops
• Use data and capacity signals to influence infra decisions and forecast growth.

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience designing and operating large-scale Kubernetes-based infrastructure or
• Experienced software engineer with Go or comparable systems language.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure and understanding of distributed cloud infra.
• Strong systems mindset for solving infra, scheduling, or capacity management challenges.
• Comfortable with operational data, capacity forecasting, or analytics to inform decisions.
• Proven track record of technical leadership across teams and influencing architecture.
