Staff Engineer - Data Platform - Seattle

📋 Description

• Be tech-lead for data ingestion and normalization across ad networks and warehouses.
• Design and lead schema evolution, data contracts, DQ, and lineage.
• Drive architecture in GCP/BigQuery/dbt; standardize and deprecate.
• Mentor senior engineers; raise the engineering bar.
• Partner with data science to translate modeling needs into pipeline SLAs.
• Own incident response and post-mortems for critical pipeline failures.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years software engineering; 4+ yrs on production data platforms.
• Staff-level leadership: set direction and mentor engineers.
• Python, SQL/dbt; Dagster/Airflow/Temporal; BigQuery/Snowflake.
• Own schema design, data quality, and lineage; data contracts.
• Strong product judgment; translate DS/ML needs into data contracts.
• OSS contributions or AI Agents in data platform; excellent comms.
