Staff Engineer, Product Engineering (Backend)

📋 Description

• Design, build, and ship backend systems powering athlete-facing features.
• Act as tech lead for a pod of engineers; scope work and coordinate delivery.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to shape features from 0→1.
• Solve tough technical problems; own quality and reliability across the stack.
• Move quickly on product bets with emphasis on performance and maintainability.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of backend/server engineering experience.
• Experience as a tech lead; strong team facilitation and execution.
• Bias for building and shipping features that scale to real users.
• Strong distributed-systems design and decision-making.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Scala, Go, Python) with ability to learn others.
• Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS; relational and NoSQL DBs (MySQL, Redis, Cassandra).
