Staff Engineer - Recommendations

📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend services for recommendations and
• Create data models and schemas for analytical and real-time personalization workloads.
• Collaborate with data scientists, PMs, and engineers to capture and prepare data for product use.
• Develop large-scale data processing workflows using Spark and Kafka.
• Advance personalization from heuristics to data-backed models.
• Contribute to APIs, caching, queues, and cloud orchestration for robust backend architecture.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering with focus on data engineering or backend systems.
• Proven ETL/ELT data pipeline design and optimization experience.
• Strong SQL skills for analytical workloads and real-time access.
• Hands-on with Spark, Kafka, Beam, and related big data tech.
• Experience with cloud platforms at scale (AWS or Google Cloud).
• Programming with Python and JavaScript/Node.js; experience with MongoDB/Redis.
