Staff Full Stack Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead architecture and technical strategy for Mattermost’s core web platform (Go backend
• Drive security, compliance, and reliability in government and enterprise contexts
• Collaborate across teams to ship scalable features and open-source contributions
• Set org-wide standards for AI-agentic engineering workflows and testing infra
• Mentor senior engineers and influence multiple teams without formal authority
• Partner with security, compliance, and product leadership on strategic bets

🎯 Requirements

• Senior full-stack experience in Go and React (or comparable stack), owning complex systems
• Experience designing distributed/high-availability systems and REST/WebSocket APIs
• Relational DB experience (PostgreSQL, schema design, query optimization)
• Hands-on use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) with judgment
• Ability to mentor and raise technical bar across a broader team
• Comfort in regulated/high-compliance environments (enterprise security, government)
