Staff Machine Learning Engineer

📋 Description

• Own personalization as a domain: models behind homepage feed, add-next recommendations, and search
• Build custom embeddings from raw data and own them across surfaces
• Take fuzzy business problems from first sketch to production model and stay accountable for
• Make modeling and architecture calls that span teams and are expensive to reverse
• Own full model lifecycle: orchestration, deployment, monitoring, retraining loop
• Set standards for how personalization builds with AI, including evals to catch confidently wrong

🎯 Requirements

• Several years shipping production machine learning
• Experience building recommender systems or personalization reaching real users at scale
• Strong opinions held loosely; able to pick up ambiguous problems and move
• Deep knowledge of Python ML ecosystem: pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch
• Fluent across full ML lifecycle including orchestration and monitoring
• Ability to build custom representations from raw data instead of off-the-shelf embeddings
