Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Applied Research

📋 Description

• Contribute to ML/LLM research for search, recommendation, and ranking tasks.
• Collect, analyze, and synthesize data to build data-driven models.
• Write clean, efficient, scalable code.
• Apply ML, NLP, and graph analysis to modeling and ranking across growth, discovery, ads, and search.
• Scope and independently solve moderately complex problems.

🎯 Requirements

• MS/PhD in Computer Science, ML, NLP, Statistics, Information Sciences or related field.
• 6+ years of industry experience.
• Experience in machine learning or information retrieval.
• Mastery of at least one systems language (Java, C++, Python) or one ML framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow).
• Experience in research and solving analytical problems.
• Cross-functional collaboration and strong communication.
• Comfortable solving ambiguous problems and adapting to a dynamic environment.
• 1-2 in-person collaboration trips per quarter; location nationwide.
