Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Driver Understanding and Evaluation

📋 Description

• Lead development of Deep Learning models for evaluation systems in autonomous driving.
• Build Gen AI LLM/VLM solutions for behavior analysis and anomaly detection.
• Monitor and codify best practices to collect human-preference data for RL and evaluation.
• Enhance rider feedback analytics with multi-label, sentiment, and trend analysis tools.
• Oversee production ML models for Waymo's fleet operating millions of miles.
• Collaborate with PMs/TPMs and other teams to align technical plans with business goals.

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. in CS/Robotics/ML or equivalent experience; 7+ years in ML projects.
• Strong coding in C++ and/or Python.
• Experience with Foundational Models, VLM, or Deep Learning.
• Experience with ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face transformers; scalable ML
