Staff Materials Engineer, Anode Design

📋 Description

• Prioritize safety in electrochemical testing and battery operation end-to-end.
• Create materials specs for Form Energy's iron electrode and define inspection methods.
• Design, execute, and interpret anode tests in lab and field-deployed batteries.
• Own Root Cause Analyses and FMEAs on electrode materials and devices.
• Characterize electrode materials pre- and post-test; develop new techniques.
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop new anode materials; mentor colleagues.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in materials engineering and electrochemical/battery systems.
• Build property-to-performance relationships via experiments and statistics.
• Hands-on materials processing and electrochemical device testing experience.
• Expertise in RCA, FMEA; proficient with JMP or Minitab.
• Excellent communication; able to travel up to 25% across sites.
• Bachelor's degree in Materials/Chemical/Metallurgy; PhD preferred.
