Staff Mechanical Design Engineer, Structures

📋 Description

• Perform structural analysis of Gen 2 designs using Ansys FEA and hand calcs
• Establish best practices for analysis methods and pass/fail criteria
• Create calculator tools for standard load cases and joint analyses
• Collaborate with test team to build material libraries for FEA
• Work with designers/test engineers to validate designs via tests and FEA
• Present analysis results to design reviews and leadership

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years in mechanical design and structural analysis
• Experience leading design for complex structures using Ansys FEA (dynamic/static/linear/nonlinear)
• DFMA experience for mass manufacturing (sheet metal, weldments)
• CAD proficiency, SolidWorks modeling
• ASCE 7-22 and AISC-360 knowledge preferred
