Staff Mechanical Engineer — R&D

📋 Description

• Lead full-cycle prototype development from concept to build.
• Design and fabricate hardware in-house with shop tools.
• Plan and run mechanical experiments and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with controls, electrical, and systems engineers.
• Conceive novel mechanism architectures and actuation concepts.
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain design docs.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years hands-on mechanical engineering in R&D
• Proven concept-to-hardware track record
• 3D CAD proficiency: SolidWorks, Onshape, or equivalent
• Shop-floor fabrication: machining, 3D printing, sheet metal
• Experience with structural/dynamic analysis (FEA)
• Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced work
