Staff Mechanical Engineer – Robotic Hand Design Tech Lead

📋 Description

• Lead mechanical design of a multi-DOF robotic hand for humanoid platform.
• Define arch for hand structure, joints, and load paths balancing dexterity and weight.
• Collaborate with actuation, perception, and software teams for integrated system.
• Drive prototyping, testing, and iteration with hands-on evaluation.
• Ensure manufacturability and scale-up with DFM/DFA and supplier collaboration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers on dexterous manipulation systems.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience designing multi-axis robotic hands or high-DOF mechanisms.
• Strong background in hand biomechanics or bio-inspired design.
• Expertise with solid modeling tools (SolidWorks, NX, Catia).
• Familiarity with tendon-driven or remote actuation and cable routing.
• Experience with tactile sensing or force feedback integration is a plus.
• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics or related field; 8+ years preferred.
