Staff Modeling & Controls Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop physics-based dynamic models for mechanical, fluids, and thermal systems.
• Create control algorithms to optimize performance and cost.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams for controls specs.
• Lead model validation campaigns with test engineers to close gaps.
• Drive product architecture trade studies for optimal system design.
• Travel to support controls bring-up and prototype testing (limited).

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years with a PhD in Engineering or 5+ years with MS.
• Classical control theory experience: feedback, observers, filters, state machines.
• Experience developing control algorithms for embedded systems.
• Track record of multi-physics reduced-order models (thermal, fluids).
• Experience with complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow and Git.
