📋 Description

• Steer architecture and technical direction of imaging systems from concept through qualification.
• Shape end-to-end imaging system integration, linking optical design to focal plane/detector assemblies.
• Mentor engineers daily with optical judgement and system-level thinking.
• Collaborate across manufacturing, assembly, alignment, and qualification to mature instrument generations.

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience in imaging optics across the full product lifecycle.
• Optical system design knowledge, incl. focal plane and detector assemblies.
• Experience as imaging systems architect with trade-off aware architectures.
• Ability to assess designs and own system-level trade-offs.
• Strong mentoring skills, daily guidance to engineers.
• Degree in optical engineering, applied physics, or related field; 10+ years.
