Staff Platform Engineer

📋 Description

• Review the current platform with fresh eyes, propose better solutions, and help the team evolve them
• Design and evolve cloud-native platform components on Kubernetes and AWS
• Build abstractions (defaults, templates, CLIs, operators) to let teams manage their own
• Find and fix root causes of cost, reliability, and developer-experience problems at the platform
• Set standards and guidelines through RFCs
• Work with the team daily: pair on designs, review proposals, mentor engineers

🎯 Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and its ecosystem from running real clusters
• Proficiency with AWS (or GCP or Azure) in production, including networking, IAM, cost and failure
• Strong software engineering skills to build tools for other engineers
• Experience in platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure in a company with many dependent teams
• Experience using observability in production (metrics, logs, or traces) with any tool
• Habit of questioning the problem before designing the solution
