Staff Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Own Shopify checkout and post-purchase features. Build and maintain the extensions that render
• Rebuild experimentation reporting. Design the data model, PHP and TypeScript endpoints, and
• Build robust REST APIs in PHP and TypeScript that serve our extensions, admin, and Shopify
• Keep production healthy by investigating merchant-reported problems, finding root causes, fixing
• Work AI-first using Anthropic's Claude Code across development, review, and testing.
• Do your own quality assurance in unit and end-to-end suites and by hand against real Shopify stores.

🎯 Requirements

• Staff-level ownership: driving technical decisions or migrations end-to-end across multiple systems
• Fluent daily use of AI coding tools with judgment to distinguish plausible from correct results.
• Strong troubleshooting in unfamiliar codebases (TypeScript or PHP).
• 8+ years building production web applications with PHP (CodeIgniter 4 or comparable MVC) and
• Experience owning revenue-critical, customer-facing systems in production (logs, metrics
