Staff Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, UX, and SRE to design features and APIs.
• Lead feature development from discovery to production, including design, reviews, and tests.
• Make technical decisions balancing product needs, quality, performance, and security.
• Work on SaaS or on-premise software.
• Mentor others via code reviews, feedback, design discussions, and pairing.
• Drive continuous improvement within an agile delivery team.
• Participate in an on-call rota for a multi-tenant SaaS product.
• Work remotely, with 1-2 days per month in an Edinburgh office.

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive hands-on development delivering major features for complex user workflows.
• Product-minded engineering balancing technical constraints, scope, and business goals.
• Experience using AI-assisted workflows to accelerate design, coding, testing, and review.
• Strong Java development experience with OO design to deliver high-quality, maintainable software.
• Experience with Spring or similar Java frameworks.
• Designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs in microservices.
