Staff Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead major initiatives and own a large area of Shepherd's product experience.
• Work across the stack with underwriting, design, and product management.
• Build culture and mentor engineers as we scale the team.
• Balance innovation with pragmatic delivery and ship high-quality products.
• Contribute to product strategy and architecture decisions.
• Collaborate closely with PMs, the CTO, and the insurance team.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (backend and/or frontend).
• Proficiency in React, Next.js, GraphQL, and Apollo.
• Node.js, Postgres, Redis, and GraphQL APIs experience.
• InsurTech or actuarial experience preferred.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
