Staff Software Engineer, AI Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead technical strategy for AI/LLM across Midi's product surfaces
• Architect production-grade AI systems: retrieval, orchestration, agents, evaluation
• Set AI safety, evaluation, observability, and rollout standards in healthcare
• Partner with clinical, product, and executive leadership to shape the AI roadmap
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers; raise AI literacy across the org
• Lead frontier: evaluate new models, techniques, tools, and bring them into the team

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering with recent production AI/LLM leadership
• Hands-on Python in production environments
• Deep AI system design for scale: retrieval, agents, evaluation, latency, cost
• Strong communicator with product, clinical, and executive stakeholders
• Authority in AI engineering; able to defend tradeoffs rigorously
• Mentor and grow engineers into strong AI builders
