Staff Software Engineer, Alloy Integrations

📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain integrations between Metronome and external billing, payments
• Build reliable, event-driven systems for invoice delivery, payment workflows, and status sync, with
• Ship features that help customers control how they invoice, collect, and account for revenue, from
• Improve observability and automated repair across our systems so problems are caught and fixed
• Participate in an on-call rotation and lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and follow-up
• Plan and carry out migrations and changes to existing integrations without disrupting customer

🎯 Requirements

• This is a Staff level role, so we typically target 10+ years of professional experience building
• Experience designing and integrating with third-party APIs, including handling failures, retries
• Experience with distributed or event-driven systems, such as message queues, streams, or workflow
• Experience owning services in production, including monitoring, on-call, and incident response
• Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to engineers and to people outside engineering
• Experience with billing, invoicing, payments, tax, or other financial systems where correctness
