📋 Description

• Own and evolve core infrastructure enabling Canva services to talk to each other.
• Design and build core infra that connects Canva backend services.
• Lead a major migration of how backend services communicate.
• Drive support for more languages and frameworks so teams can build natively on our platform.
• Own reliability, performance, and correctness of critical systems.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the team.

• Built and operated infra used by other teams (API gateway, RPC, service mesh).
• Owns systems where reliability and correctness matter; considers trade-offs.
• Drives technical direction across teams and communicates clearly.
• Ownership mindset; platform work that makes others' jobs easier.
• Years of experience with large-scale, high-transaction production systems; multiple languages.
