Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Order Platform)

📋 Description

• Lead technical strategy for Order Platform backends (orders, captures, refunds, settlement) with
• Mentor engineers, set design standards, and drive cross-team collaboration for sustainable
• Own operations: monitoring, on-call readiness, runbooks, testing, and incident response.
• Define API boundaries, idempotency, and failure handling for payments/commerce systems.
• Translate business needs into technical plans and execute major feature work or platform
• Communicate clearly with global teams and contribute through code and technical talks.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale (Python or Kotlin).
• Proven experience with AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes for highly available distributed systems.
• Strong emphasis on API design, reliability, and correct handling of consistency and failure modes.
• Track record delivering major features or deprecations with clear technical plans and quality code.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, model large systems, and iterate from low-level to architecture.
• Strong communication skills and evidence of mentoring and collaboration with cross-functional peers.

🎁 Benefits

• Base pay: USA CA/WA/NY/NJ/CT $230,000-$290,000; other US states $204,000-$264,000 per year.
