Staff Software Engineer, Demand Bidder, Ad Serving Platform

📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate core real-time decisioning components with low latency
• Own end-to-end subsystems: architecture, testing, deployment, on-call
• Develop mental model of a large distributed system and contribute high-leverage work
• Identify opportunities to evolve the system and tooling
• Collaborate with engineers and applied scientists on distributed systems and ML-driven decisions
• Diagnose timing- or statistics-related issues in a concurrent, multi-region system

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years designing, building, and operating large-scale, low-latency distributed systems
• Own complex systems end-to-end: design, build, operate, on-call, iterate
• Ramps quickly into unfamiliar, large codebases and becomes productive fast
• Experience evolving and refactoring live systems without compromising uptime
• Strong command of Java, with concurrency, data structures, and performance optimization
• Experience with distributed caching, high-throughput messaging/streaming, and SQL/NoSQL
