Staff Software Engineer — Networking & DNS Infrastructure

📋 Description

• Design and implement components of a high-performance DNS engine: resolvers, forwarders, caching
• Implement and harden DNS protocol features across transports: UDP/TCP, DNS-over-HTTPS
• Build features for traffic management and reliability: global server load balancing
• Profile and optimize hot paths: memory allocation, data structures (tries, caches), connection
• Integrate the data plane with control-plane services: configuration updates across distributed
• Own observability for your components: metrics, structured logging/tracing, and diagnostics that

🎯 Requirements

• Strong systems programming experience in Rust and async programming with Tokio
• Thorough understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP, UDP, TLS, HTTP), ideally DNS
• Experience writing performance-sensitive concurrent code and measuring with benchmarks and profiling
• Test-first, correctness-oriented mindset with focus on edge cases, graceful shutdown, backpressure
• Comfort working with modular codebases (crates/modules), shared libraries, plugin boundaries, and
