📋 Description

• Lead the technical direction of backend systems powering Pinterest's AI-driven experiences
• Design and ship backend systems, architect platform strategy for scalability across surfaces and
• Move between deep technical execution, system-level architecture, and cross-team technical
• Define architecture for AI-driven experiences, API layers, orchestration, storage, and safety
• Lead resolution of complex challenges (LLM inference scaling, latency vs. quality, service
• Build production backends with APIs, data models, caching, and LLM infrastructure integrations.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years backend software engineering experience with leadership impact.
• Experience as a technical leader on large, cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong Python development and large codebase navigation.
• Experience building on distributed systems with caching, async processing, storage tradeoffs.
• Experience building LLM-powered or ML-backed products in production.
