• Comfortable discussing distributed systems, design decisions, and best practices
• Build prototypes and guide design/development/deployment using Java, Go, TypeScript, Python, or PHP
• Conversant in operating production apps: security, reliability, performance, cost management, ops
• Advise customers on architectural topics like patterns and platform architectures
• Comfortable working with major cloud providers and common production services
