📋 Description

Conduct regular checks with police, fire and paramedics
Monitor social media and other sources for breaking news
Provide quick tips to the newsroom
Original reporting for all the Star’s platforms
Paid contract role staffing the 24/7 digital monitoring hub
Shifts include 8am-4:30pm, 4pm-12:30am, 12am-8:30am; weekend/overnight

🎯 Requirements

Passionate about breaking news
Calm, well-organized and able to juggle multiple tasks
Able to persuade reluctant officials to provide information
Prepared to speak with victims of crime and accidents
Well-versed in CP style
Eligible to work in Ontario and a current post-secondary student
