System Safety Engineer

📋 Description

• Partner with engineering to document hazards and mitigation controls.
• Assess vehicle compliance with failure tolerance; identify design improvements to reduce risk.
• Participate in design reviews to communicate safety analyses to partners.
• Perform system safety analyses including FHA and crew survivability.

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. in aerospace engineering or related field with aerospace/aviation safety experience.
• Experience performing system safety analyses and certification of human-rated space systems.
• Experience with external standards: Range Safety (91-710), NASA, FAA, MIL-STD-882, ARP-4761.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fluid schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; communicate with non-tech partners.
• Travel up to 20%; willing to work evenings/weekends; lift up to 25 lbs; certifications.
