System Safety Engineer, Operations  Fleet Response

📋 Description

• Lead cross-functional safety analyses to identify hazards and assess risks for Waymo's autonomous
• Participate in hardware, software, and operations design reviews to ensure safety mitigations are
• Provide guidance on safety standards, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices
• Evaluate ongoing effectiveness of risk control strategies and identify new hazards
• Drive System Safety processes and integrate with Waymo safety framework
• Collaborate with partners to ensure safety requirements are met in field operations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Mechatronics/Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering
• 7+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in System Safety
• Strong ability to perform inductive/deductive safety analyses to identify hazards and risks
• Proficient in Systems Engineering principles and SMART safety mitigations
• Experience in risk management and aligning decisions with stakeholders
• Excellent technical project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects
