Tech Lead Manager, Data Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers for Waymo Commercialization Data Lake and data
• Define and drive the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Data Engineering team.
• Oversee design, development, and operation of scalable data pipelines, stores, and models for
• Establish data quality, governance, security, and performance best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Data Scientists, Engineering, and Operations to deliver robust data
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

🎯 Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years in data engineering or software engineering with large-scale data systems.
• 2+ years leading engineering teams (hiring, coaching, performance management).
• Demonstrated leadership in designing and delivering complex, large-scale data systems and pipelines.
• Strong data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT experience.
• Expertise in SQL and proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.
