Technical Director, Frontend Architecture

📋 Description

• Steward the Luau layer development, including its libraries and frameworks.
• Drive Luau layer performance optimization across devices and low bandwidth.
• Accelerate feature development via improved developer experience and agentic product development.
• Increase alignment between the Luau layer and Luau technologies used by Roblox creators.
• Provide mentorship for engineers from junior to principal.
• Luau layer provides client-side functionality across eight platforms.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in cross-platform software frameworks and architectures.
• Experience with complex cross-platform codebases using TypeScript and technologies such as React Native, Flutter.
• Deep experience combining TypeScript with native modules.
• Deep experience with modern frontend web architecture (React and state management).
• Experience building on platforms beyond mobile/desktop (consoles, VR) is a plus.
• Commitment to agentic product development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent collaboration across teams to address diverse device types and platforms.
