Technical Oversight - Underwriting

📋 Description

• Develop underwriting workflows, SOPs, SLAs, checklists, and QC measures to ensure high-quality underwriting.
• Regularly access and enhance underwriting systems for smooth file flow, regulatory compliance, and efficiency.
• Oversee day-to-day operations with fulfillment partners, ensuring on-time originations.
• Define productivity standards and performance goals; monitor monthly, quarterly and annual results.
• Conduct second-level reviews, handle exceptions, and manage escalations for quality control.
• Act as a subject-matter expert; collaborate with engineering and partners to improve the fulfillment infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years underwriting experience; leading teams across Conventional, Jumbo, NON-QM, GOVT for purchase and refinance.
• Proven track record in developing underwriting workflows, SOPs, SLAs and QC measures.
• Proficiency configuring underwriting systems for efficiency, quality and compliance.
• Experience managing decentralized underwriting teams.
• Experience managing strategic 3rd party fulfillment partners.
• Mortgage fintech experience strongly preferred.
