U.S. Federal Government Relations Director

📋 Description

• Develop and execute policy objectives across finance, tech, and regulation.
• Lead federal legislative advocacy with Congress on AI, stablecoins, and payments.
• Build relationships with Members of Congress, staff, and regulators.
• Engage Treasury, OCC, FDIC, Fed, CFPB, and others to advance policy outcomes.
• Plan and run policy initiatives and campaigns for Stripe's users.
• Translate policy developments into actionable guidance for Stripe teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in policymaking, government, or senior advocacy.
• Experience on Capitol Hill or federal policy offices; bipartisan.
• Deep expertise in financial services regulation and payments.
• Familiar with AI, agentic commerce, and tech policy issues.
• Strong relationships with policymakers and staff on both sides.
• Proven ability to manage complex policy initiatives and coalitions.
• Excellent judgment in ambiguous situations.
• Terrific writer and communicator with cross-team collaboration.
• Passion for Stripe's mission to grow businesses.
• Collaborative, curious mindset; thrives in high-growth teams.
• Will travel up to 25%.
