U.S. State Policy & Partnerships Manager, Global Affairs

📋 Description

• Drive operations of the State Policy & Partnerships team (planning, briefs, cadences)
• Coordinate with OpenAI teams to advance state-level AI policy priorities
• Track legislative, regulatory, political, and stakeholder developments across states
• Represent OpenAI in external meetings, conferences, coalitions, and policy forums
• Translate policy and technical issues into clear materials for leaders and stakeholders
• Help prepare OpenAI leaders for engagements with governors, legislators, mayors, and partners

🎯 Requirements

• 5–10 years in public policy, government affairs, or related fields
• Strong understanding of state/local government (governors, legislatures, AGs)
• Exceptional organizer; bring structure to ambiguity without slowing work
• Strong writer and communicator; turn complex policy into clear analyses
• Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders
• Willingness to travel and represent OpenAI at events
