Underpayment Analyst, Denials - Zero Balance (REMOTE)

📋 Description

• Review, evaluate, appeal, and follow up on denied and underpaid claims.
• Use payer docs and provider contracts to determine reimbursement.
• Review hospital contracts to identify cash payments and prompt payments.
• Research and assemble records to submit underpayment appeals.
• Telephone follow-up with payers to confirm receipt and resolve receivables.

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate/Bachelor’s preferred.
• 5+ years in healthcare billing/collections.
• 1+ year client-facing/customer service experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of payer/provider claims processing and data needs.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• ICD and HCPCS/CPT coding, and medical terminology.
• Understanding of revenue cycle, hospital reimbursement, and managed care contracts.
• Familiarity with EOB, UB04, and HCFA-1500 forms.
