Able is a product strategy and development studio. Able's vision is to build digital products that create a more inclusive and prosperous future for our people and partners (our 'clients').  Our teams consist of exceptional Product Designers, Software Engineers, Product Managers, and all-around company builders. 

Able is seeking a full-time permanent Community Engagement Manager to join our remote team. This role will lead content development and engagement strategies for Able to successfully market to ideal client profiles, including the investment community.  They will also identify qualified leads, nurture them into the partner (client) prospect funnel, and support our Director of Partnerships in helping build our partner (client) base.  

Our Story

Over the past several years, Able has grown immeasurably. Our revenue and team have grown +30% y/y. We’ve also grown in the type of company that we are:

Chapter 1: We were founded in 2013 as a product and engineering hub for a portfolio of early-stage start-ups. We grew up as an in-house/external hybrid shared services model. That allowed us to hone our skills and establish our operational and cultural foundation. 

Chapter 2. In 2019 we began to expand our vision. We began to grow outside of our inset partner base. We had good initial success meeting new partners, kicking off new relationships, and delivering high-value work.

Chapter 3. We are now in the early stages of a new chapter, an expansion of the ambition of Chapter 2. Our strategy for growth centers around two audiences:

  • Venture Capital. VC firms are looking for trusted product and technology solutions to distribute seamlessly across their portfolios at scale. The founders at their portfolio companies are looking for capabilities that can accelerate their businesses' go-to-market time, while minimizing cost and risk.
  • Private Equity. PE firms are looking for trusted solutions that can catalyze growth for their portfolio companies at scale. The leaders of those companies are looking to leverage technology to unlock growth from their organizations.

We are looking for a leader who can help better increase Able’s visibility to ideal partner (client) profiles.

Your day-to-day

Reporting into the Director of Partner Development, this role will be responsible for:

  • Expanding Able’s Go-To-Market StrategyWe have recently launched a new website and plan to launch a social content publishing program. You will lead the strengthening of our marketing efforts across these and other channels. You will lead the creation and delivery of strategic campaigns for Able, leveraging our strengths to expand our influence and impact within our target communities of advocates and partnerships.
  • Building Able’s Community of Partners and AdvocatesWe are looking to expand upon the successes we’ve had with our current VC, PE, and portfolio company partners. You will help drive this through the initiation, creation, and execution of content campaigns that distill and retell the value we create and direct it towards new partner communities that would benefit from Able. There will be autonomy around how this role will deliver on this aspect. 
  • Supporting in New Partner Pipeline BuildingAs a support to our Director of Partnerships, your efforts should correlate directly with pipeline building and positive top-of-funnel metrics. Able’s growth and go-to-market investments prioritize building highly referenceable partnerships that will lead to warm introductions to prospective partners and shorter sales cycles. 
  • Providing Cultural and Operational LeadershipIn this role, you will be a member of Able’s growth team, contributing significantly to our strategic development. You will represent and uphold our values both within our team and in our interactions with partners, playing a vital role in shaping and embodying the essence of what makes us 'Able'.
What you bring

The ideal candidate is someone who has a track record of:

  • Go-to-market proficiency You have developed and shaped communication and engagement strategies that deliver for in-house business and goals with a focus on (although not limited to) content and social.  You have acted as a communication expert and advocate, advising and delivering on effective, best-practice approaches to content and social strategy.
  • Collaborating with partners (portfolio companies, VC firms, PE firms)You have ideally worked directly with a venture capital or private equity firm (or in this industry). You have a strong understanding of these communities and have experience building communication strategies around developing partner relationships.  
  • Outbound prospecting expertise You have experience with the tools and analyzing data to help build and optimize communication strategies to engage ideal client profiles.   
  • Technical UnderstandingYou have ideally developed content and communication for technical products and services. You are comfortable communicating complex technical information to non-technical audiences and stakeholders.  
  • CuriosityYou are relentless in your pursuit of understanding and learning. You love learning about new things and imagining ways to apply your newfound knowledge to your work and life.

This position is 100% remote within the United States.  You must be authorized to work in the United States. 

Travel within the US may be required for this role (4-6x / year).

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 USD.
