Who you areWe are looking for an experienced and motivated DevOps and Compliance Engineer to join our team as the first dedicated employee in this role! As a DevOps Engineer at Clair, you will play a crucial role in shaping our technological foundation.
You'll work closely with all departments, particularly alongside our development and data teams. Under the expert guidance of Clair's VP of Technology, you will contribute to the seamless integration of our systems and the continuous improvement of our technical infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment. This person should be proactive in finding room for improvement in Clair’s infrastructure and monitoring, and be diligent in maintaining all compliance requirements for audits, tests, scans, et al.
What you’ll do- Implement security controls and best practices to safeguard our environments and our customers
- Champion quality, scalability, security, and performance, collaborating with engineers to build a solid foundation that serves our customers, and enables the team to continue building a great product
- Ensure all audits (e.g. SOC 2), assessments (e.g. Risk), scans (e.g. Vulnerability), and tests (e.g. periodic pen tests) are up-to-date, coordinating with 3rd parties as needed
- Maintain and refine Clair’s incident management and disaster recovery protocols, including running table-top exercises with cross-departmental groups
- Manage Clair’s security posture within our infrastructure, including AWS, GitHub Cloud, CI/CD, network administration, firewalls, access control and whitelists
- Handle company tech requests, ensuring employees get access to necessary systems compliantly and promptly.
- Build and maintain robust logging and monitoring systems for maximum visibility into key system access.
- 7+ years of professional experience, preferably in dynamic companies/teams
- One or more certifications in information security (CISA, CISM, CISSP, CSSP)
- Experience orchestrating and managing complex, distributed applications in AWS or equivalent.
- Experience with incident response and management tools like PagerDuty.
- Wide understanding of system and application architectures with a strong observability background.
- Experience securing customer data and managing compliance frameworks that attest to security posture
- Experience defining InfoSec strategy and practices, with a demonstrated ability to deliver solutions with limited guidance.
Location: Remote within the United States
Compensation: The annual base salary for this role is $150,000-$155,000. The actual base pay within this range depends on many factors, such as education, skills and experience. Base pay is only one part of Clair’s competitive total compensation package which includes benefits, perks and equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
