Associate Counsel, Litigation

📋 Description

• Primary responsibility—hands-on handling of diverse litigation matters (consumer, tort, IP).
• Lead discovery, motions, witness prep, settlements, and trial/appellate strategies.
• Advise internal partners on litigation and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Public Policy, Communications, Product, and Engineering.
• Provide strategic recommendations to cross-functional teams on trust and safety issues.
• Manage outside counsel, including staffing, budgeting, and alignment with Lyft's strategy.

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from a top law school; membership in a state bar.
• 4+ years civil litigation experience; in-house experience preferred.
• Experience with complex litigation (class actions, MDLs; consumer/tort/IP).
• Excellent problem-solving, judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Autonomous; able to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Executive presence to communicate risk to senior leaders and manage priorities.
