Backend Engineer, Markets

📋 Description

• Build automation pipelines for market creation and lifecycle updates.
• Integrate external data sources (sports APIs, news feeds) for market creation and resolution.
• Design pipelines for reliability, idempotency, safe re-runs, and fast failure detection.
• Contribute to data-driven systems that resolve markets accurately and on time.
• Debug production failures across markets infrastructure under time pressure.
• Review code and participate in design discussions as a full engineering team member.

🎯 Requirements

• 1–4 years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or Go — strong in at least one.
• Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs with messy data.
• Evidence of shipping production code or running projects.
• Familiar with AI-native development tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor).
• Ownership mindset; you want to run what you build and care when things break.
• Comfort on Linux and with cloud tooling; quick to pick up new infra.
• Plus: personal projects on Polymarket, Kalshi, or other prediction APIs.
• Plus: exposure to queues/streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) or workflow engines.
• Plus: genuine interest in prediction markets, sports, or trading.
