Backend Engineer, UI Platform

📋 Description

• Take end-to-end ownership of software projects, aligning on priorities and then independently
• Design, build, and operate reliable, scalable APIs and backend systems that support Stripe's
• Help modernize Stripe's UI architecture through incremental migrations, automated validation
• Improve the reliability, observability, performance, and operability of services on critical user
• Partner with frontend, backend, and infrastructure engineers to understand their needs and turn
• Use AI-assisted and agentic development workflows to improve implementation, testing, validation

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in using AI-assisted and agentic development tools as part of day-to-day software
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong knowledge of backend technologies and infrastructure, including the fundamentals of APIs
• Ability to independently scope and deliver open-ended software projects, making practical technical
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with attention to testing, maintainability
