Billing Specialist

📋 Description

• Resolve insurance claim denials and work directly with insurance providers, payers, and third
• Investigate claim denials via insurance portals to resubmit clean claims or draft formal appeals
• Contact patients and families via phone, email, and patient engagement platforms to update
• Process credit card payments, review and process insurance and patient refunds, and ensure patient
• Partner with Blackbird clinicians and internal teams to resolve billing issues related to patient

🎯 Requirements

• 2–4 years of healthcare billing experience working with insurance companies and EHR/PM systems
• 1–3 years of experience in a customer service setting.
• In-depth knowledge of medical billing procedures, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and insurance terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
