CFO-in-Residence

📋 Description

• Embed with one or two Shaper-backed companies at a time as a fractional Head of Finance or
• Own core finance functions, from setting up or refining financial systems to building budgets
• Partner with founders on fundraising, including financial models, the story behind the numbers
• Build infrastructure that lasts by setting best practices for financial operations, cash
• Lead strategic finance projects such as pricing strategy, cap table modeling, M&A diligence
• Over time, step into a full-time CFO or Head of Finance role at a portfolio company where the fit

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including time as the senior finance leader (CFO, VP
• Background includes investment banking, FP&A, private equity, venture capital, or Big 4
• Modeling, forecasting, accounting, revenue recognition, and SaaS metrics are second nature
• Experience setting up finance functions from scratch, choosing systems, designing processes, and
• Ability to turn financial insight into strategy, guide fundraising and board conversations, and
• Comfortable building models at 10pm and presenting to the board the next morning
