Clinical Coding Specialist (Australia)

📋 Description

• Lead medical coding validation for AI-generated documentation across Australian settings
• Develop coding guidelines translating ACS into AI learning protocols
• Conduct quality audits of AI-coded documentation for accuracy and compliance
• Collaborate with engineering to define technical requirements and validation rules
• Work with Australian clinicians to understand documentation patterns and challenges
• Ensure regulatory compliance with DoH, Medicare Australia, DVA, and insurers

🎯 Requirements

• 3-5+ years of professional medical coding in Australian hospitals, clinics, or health systems
• HIMAA certification in Clinical Coding or equivalent qualification (university/TAFE certificate)
• Expert-level knowledge of ICD-10-AM/ACHI and ACS across specialties
• Strong understanding of DRG and AR-DRG classification
• MBS knowledge and Medicare Australia billing requirements
• Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Best Practice, Medical Director, Genie)
