Controller

📋 Description

• Own all accounting operations including monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Enforce revenue recognition, inventory valuation, COGS, and deferred revenue.
• Lead and develop the accounting team; scale processes for growth.
• Manage external audits; ensure clean, timely deliverables.
• Partner with FP&A for actuals, variance analysis, and board reporting.
• Hybrid NYC office 3 days/week; backbone of the finance organization.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years progressive accounting; 3–5 years in Controller/Assistant Controller.
• Experience with significant physical inventory (hardware/CPG).
• Experience with subscription/recurring revenue; deferred revenue.
• Scaled accounting infrastructure; strong GAAP in revenue recognition, inventory, cost accounting.
• NetSuite required; 3PL, Shopify/DTC, and subscription billing exposure a plus.
• CPA required; Big Four or national firm audit background preferred.
