Director, Medicinal Chemistry

📋 Description

• Lead the medicinal chemistry strategy within a multidisciplinary CNS GPCR drug discovery program
• Direct internal chemistry resources, geographically dispersed employees, outsourced synthetic
• Design innovative molecules that align with target product profiles, therapeutic objectives, and
• Interpret SAR data alongside pharmacology and ADME results to identify optimization opportunities
• Maintain close communication with synthetic chemistry teams, monitor ongoing experiments, and
• Contribute to the scientific direction of discovery programs, ensuring chemistry activities support

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Chemistry or a related discipline required; PhD in Chemistry or
• At least 10 years of experience designing small molecules and leading medicinal chemistry teams in
• Expert knowledge of synthetic and medicinal chemistry principles, with strong understanding of
• Demonstrated experience working on CNS targets and advancing discovery programs from hit-to-lead
• Proven ability to interpret SAR data, evaluate pharmacology and ADME findings, apply
• Experience leading, motivating, and coordinating scientific teams, including remote and virtual
